Art Walk Edmonds at Crow

February 16, 2023 - I was very fortunate to be invited by Jennifer Lawson, the owner of the shop Crow (www.edmondscrow.com), in downtown Edmonds, to participate in the February Art Walk. Here is the description of what Art Walk Edmonds is, taken from their web page at www.artwalkedmonds.com.

β€œArt Walk Edmonds is free community event held monthly throughout the year. All month long, Edmonds businesses host local art in their locations starting the first of the month so that visitors can come any time they are open. In addition, every Third Thursday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm participating businesses also open their doors to showcase local and regional art - offering the public the chance to meet and interact directly with the artists.”

At the beginning of the month Jen put up for display and sale a small selection of my work - 2 bowls, a kuksa and a handful of spoons.

The Art Walk itself on February 16th brought a pleasant group of people to the store who were very gracious and interested in looking at my work. I really enjoyed being able to carve a spoon in store that evening as it added a dimension of validity and depth to my craft for the art walkers to see. For me the act of creation is the reward itself, not so much if I actually sell anything, though I did sell as small coffee scoop. Guess I better make some more of those. I was just thrilled that people took a liking in what I do and were inquisitive in the process I go through to create my bowls and spoons. I have added my name to the list of available artists and hope that other store owners and galleries want me to do that same. Here are a handful of photos from the evening. I hope to be invited to participate again soon! Happy art walking!
